Shugart Shugart to head cell biology society The $6M-revenue American Society for Cell Biology has named Erika Shugart executive director, effective June 1. Shugart joins the Bethesda, Md.-based ASCB from the American Society for Microbiology where she has been director of communications and marketing strategy since 2013. She previously was deputy director of the Marian Koshland Science Museum at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. She has Ph.D. in biology from the University of Virginia.
